Cebu routs Isabela for fourth straight win

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Greats dominated the Ilagan Isabela Cowboys, 80-52, for their fourth straight win in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Season 8 on Wednesday night, August 12, at the Batangas City Coliseum.

Mark Meneses led Cebu’s balanced offensive performance with a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting from the field, including two 3-pointers.

Simon Camacho scored only six but pulled down 17 rebounds, passed away four assists, and blocked three shots as Cebu improved to 17-5.

Wowie Escosio chipped in 10 points, while Dondon Hontiveros, Elmer Echavez, and Limuel Tampus combined for 25 points for the Greats, who seized command early, 24-9, and never looked back.

Cebu ended the first half with a 39-23 lead, then stretched it to 57-38 after three quarters before cruising to a masterful 28-point demolition.

Jayboy Solis was the only double-digit scorer for Isabela with 10 points. Arth De la Cruz finished with six points, 14 rebounds and seven assists, but to no avail as the Cowboys dropped to 13-8.
