Grade 9 student nabbed for shabu

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A Grade 9 student was caught carrying shabu with an estimated street value of P 204,000 in Barangay Banago in this city on Monday.

A school security guard was conducting a routine inspection of bags when he found suspicious items inside the student’s bag.

Further inspection resulted in the recovery of two transparent plastic sachets said to contain shabu.

School officials alerted the Bacolod City police station 3.

The student was taken under the protective custody of the police and will be endorsed to the social welfare and services office for proper disposition.

Police said a follow-up operation to determine the source of the illegal substance is ongoing.
