The Blazing Torch and True Edge Cup pickleball event a success
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Pickleball Open Tournament 2026:The Blazing Torch and True Edge Cup spearheaded by the Antorcha De La Libertad Lodge No. 2 and Espada De Rectitud Lodge No. 3 of The Sovereign Grand Lodge of Visayas and Mindanao-Gran Logia Soberana del Archipielago Filipino (TSGLVM-GLSdAF) recently was a huge success.
Hermano Allan Delantar of TSGLVM said they achieved the threefold goal of their meaningful undertaking that is to foster camaraderie and brotherhood through sportsmanship, support charitable and humanitarian causes through fundraising, and help promote and develop pickleball as a growing sport in Cebu and neighboring communities.
Delantar added that part of the proceeds will be donated to a charitable organization or humanitarian initiative that will be selected by the organizers and approved by TSGLVM–GLSdAF.
Meanwhile, Bombie Ledesma and Karlo Ledesma led the winners of the one-day tilt that was made possible through the support of Howard Lazarte of Pickle Rank, Mhark Anthony Lao, Clint Libarnes, Dave Baldoza of ADB Var Rental, and Bola Pickleball PH.
The Ledesmas prevailed over the tandem of Alfredo Arradaza III and Eliezer Yac to emerge as men’s doubles open champions.
Sheina Martinez and Selena Monique Olo secured the women’s doubles open crown after defeating Karyll Salas and Jeanette Eduave.
Salas still has something to be happy about as she clinched the mixed doubles title together with Dwayne Constantine Balibalos after they bested Kaye Layosa and Janssen Bryle Ricana.
In the beginners category, Marshy Vidal and Justine Cañete edged Louise Marvi Pinos and Ken Harvey Pinos to rule the mixed doubles, Kent Homer Gongob and John Philip Pogoy lorder it over the men’s doubles after outlasting
Ken Harvey Pinos and Caesar Ian Ortega, while Niña Sequino and Lyka Campugan reigned supreme in the women’s doubles after downing Karissa Lopez and Rizalda Maunes.
