Avaricio rallies to rule ICTSI Pinewoods

BAGUIO, Philippines — With the howling winds that battered Pinewoods Golf Club a day earlier suddenly gone, Chanelle Avaricio seized the opening to mount a championship charge and complete a gripping finish in the ICTSI Pinewoods Challenge.
Starting the final round five strokes behind, Avaricio wasted no time erasing the deficit then outlasting Tiffany Lee and Harmie Constantino in a tense back-nine duel, winning the crown with a closing two-under 70.
The victory marked another emphatic rebound for the seasoned campaigner, who has rediscovered her winning rhythm after a playoff heartbreak to Sarah Ababa at Del Monte.
Meanwhile, Lloyd Go endured a birdie-less front nine, managing a 70 to stretch his lead to a commanding 12 strokes after three rounds of the men’s play.
His strong finish brought him to a 54-hole total of 15-under 201, widening his gap over Jeffren Lumbo, who stumbled with a 73 for a 213.
