Ramos, Concepcion in the fight with 68s

MANILA, Philippines — Sean Ramos and Fidel Concepcion led the local charge at the ADT Philippine Open, both firing a four-under 68 and sitting three strokes off the pace after a highly competitive opening round at the Luisita Golf and Country Club.
With Taiwan’s Su Ching-hung seizing the solo lead at seven-under 65, the Filipino contingent put up a strong fight on home soil to stay within striking distance.
Ramos backed up his recent stellar form in Malaysia by carding an eagle-aided four-under, joined at tied-eighth by Concepcion and veteran James Ryan Lam, making them the highest-placed Filipinos in the field.
Further down the leaderboard, a wave of seasoned local champions kept themselves within contention. Clyde Mondilla, Reymon Jaraula, Russel Bautista, and Angelo Que all carded steady two-under-par 70s.
