MANILA, Philippines — Fewer rains are expected as the monsoon break prevails in the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said yesterday.

PAGASA said the western part of the country could expect less rainfall for at least three days during the monsoon break.

It added that the easterlies would affect Mindanao and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas, with the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan and Tawi-Tawi experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be felt in Bicol, Eastern Visayas and the rest of Mindanao due to the easterlies, PAGASA said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.
