DSWD-7 Crisis Intervention Section gets national award

CEBU, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7-Central Visayas earned national recognition after its Crisis Intervention Section (CIS) was named Best Crisis Intervention Section during the 2025 Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence National and Gawad Kabalikat Awards rites held last Thursday, June 11, as part of the agency’s 75th founding anniversary celebration.
The award highlights the CIS for its outstanding performance in delivering timely and responsive assistance to individuals and families in crisis situations, particularly those facing medical emergencies, financial distress, and other urgent needs.
DSWD-7 said the recognition affirms the section’s consistent commitment to providing immediate social welfare interventions and ensuring that vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors in Central Visayas receive appropriate assistance without delay.
Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero commended the CIS and other awardees, saying the recognition reflects the agency’s dedication to compassionate and efficient public service.
“This recognition is a proud moment for DSWD-7 and a testament to the dedication, hard work, and compassion of our personnel. The championship of our Crisis Intervention Section reflects our commitment to provide timely, responsive, and people-centered services to individuals and families in crisis,” Lucero said.
She added that the award serves as an inspiration for all personnel to continue pursuing excellence and innovation in social protection programs.
“As we celebrate DSWD’s 75 years of service, these accomplishments remind us that our greatest achievement is the positive impact we create in the lives of vulnerable Filipinos,” she said.
