MILF leader gunned down

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A ranking leader of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) was killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur on Friday night.
Nguda Abdulrahim, chief of the MILF’s 128th Base Command, died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Capt. Steffie Salanguit, spokesperson for the Bangsamoro police.
Reports said Abdulrahim was preparing to sleep when the assailants barged into his house in Barangay Tuayan Mother and shot him several times.
Local officials said the fatality had enemies in the village.
Probers have yet to determine if the murder of Abdulrahim was related to a series of attacks that occurred previously in the village.
More than 10 people were killed in the attacks including members of indigenous peoples’ groups.
