Special holidays declared in 13 areas

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared special non-working holidays in 13 areas across the country this month, mostly to celebrate the localities’ founding and charter anniversaries.
Proclamations 1293 and 1294 declared June 15 a special non-working day in Angeles City, Pampanga and Buguey, Cagayan, respectively.
“To allow residents of Angeles to commemorate the anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and look back at how they rose from this adversity, the Office of the City Mayor requested that June 15 be declared a special non-working day,” Proclamation 1293 read.
The Pinatubo eruption on June 15, 1991 devastated Angeles and other parts of Pampanga.
Meanwhile, the holiday in Buguey will allow residents to celebrate the town’s 430th founding anniversary, according to Proclamation 1294.
The Palace also issued Proclamations 1295, 1296, 1297, 1298, 1299, 1300 and 1301 declaring June 16 a special non-working day in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur; Pamplona, Negros Oriental; Pili, Camarines Sur; La Trinidad, Benguet and Iligan City, Lanao del Norte as well as Molave and San Miguel in Surigao del Sur, respectively.
Dumalinao, La Trinidad, Molave, Pamplona and Pili will celebrate their founding anniversaries, while Iligan will commemorate its 76th Charter Day.
The people of San Miguel will celebrate the Araw ng San Miguel.
June 17 is a special non-working day in Bindoy, Negros Oriental as provided under Proclamation 1302 for the town’s charter anniversary.
Proclamation 1303 declared June 18 a special non-working day in Barlig, Mountain Province for the town’s 60th founding anniversary.
Malacañang declared June 20 a special non-working day in Lipa, Batangas and Guinayangan, Quezon under Proclamations 1304 and 1305, respectively.
Lipa will mark its 79th Cityhood while Guinayangan will observe its founding anniversary.
