Free LRT, MRT rides on June 12

MANILA, Philippines — In observance of the 128th Independence Day, commuters can avail themselves of free rides at the Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 tomorrow.

Commuters can freely board trains from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Light Rail Transit Authority said the free service is a gesture of gratitude for commuters.

“The free ride initiative aims to make it easier for the public to join Independence Day festivities and visit cultural and tourist spots near stations,” the Light Rail Manila Corp., operator of the LRT-1, said.
