2 killed in Calabarzon gun attacks

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Two people were killed in separate attacks by motorcycle-riding men in Rosario, Batangas and Cabuyao, Laguna on Friday.

The first fatality, identified only as Paulino, 52, was found along a road in Barangay Puting Kahoy in Rosario town at around 10:50 a.m.

Residents told probers that they heard a gunfire a few minutes before the body was found.

Video footage of a closed-circuit television camera installed near the crime scene showed a motorcycle with two men on board speeding away.

In Laguna, a man identified only as Sammy, 44, died while being rushed to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Police said that Sammy and his companion were on a motorcycle when two motorcycle-riding men shot them in Barangay Bantay-Banay, Cabuyao City at around 8:30 p.m.

Probers said the assailants had been tailing Sammy and his companion.
