MANILA, Philippines — Several officials in Bulacan and a “big fish” are set to be charged by the Office of the Ombudsman on Thursday, June 4, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon said.

In an interview with reporters on June 3, Dizon said the Ombudsman will file the charges in connection with the flood control scandal before the Malolos Regional Trial Court.

“Mayroon parating na kaso, in fact, tomorrow, may i-fafile sa Bulacan naman,” Dizon said in an ambush interview with reporters.

(There is an upcoming case; in fact, one will be filed in Bulacan tomorrow.)

“Intayin niyo nalang kung sino, kasi malaking isda ‘yon,” he added.

(Just wait and see who it is, because that's a big fish.)

Dizon, however, did not reveal the identities of the individuals set to be charged.

On May 26, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla announced that flood control-related charges are set to be filed against Sen. Joel Villanueva.

This was after he announced that charges of plunder and graft would be filed against Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, which the office filed on May 28.
