MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Domeng has developed into a typhoon, but will not make landfall in any part of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said yesterday.

In a tropical cyclone bulletin issued at 4 p.m., PAGASA said Domeng was last spotted at 815 kilometers east of Northern Luzon.

The storm was moving north-northwestward, packing winds at 120 kilometers per hour and gusts at 150 kph.

“Domeng will continue to intensify until it reaches its peak intensity tomorrow, while remaining over the Philippine Sea. Afterwards, it will weaken, but will remain as a typhoon throughout the forecast period,” state weather forecasters said.
