2 dead in Ilocos road mishap

LINGAYEN, Philippines — Two women died while seven others were injured when their vehicle crashed into a tree in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte on Thursday.

The fatalities, both 60 years old, and their companions were traveling in Barangay Caunayan when their van figured in the accident.

Investigation showed the driver lost control of the wheel.

The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where two of them were declared dead on arrival.
