MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) are currently investigating the possible cause of the access disruption on the websites of PCO and The Official Gazette.

The investigation is being carried out by the DICT's National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) in cooperation with the PCO.

According to the agency, they will verify if the incident stemmed from scheduled website maintenance, configuration updates, intentional administrative actions, or other causes.

Meanwhile, the agency warned the public that the website’s response times may become slower as a result of this incident.

“Users may, however, experience slightly slower page loading times than usual as system optimization continues,” the statement read.

The website’s access disruption reportedly began on Tuesday, May 19, at around 3 p.m and was fully restored at around 12 noon on Wednesday, May 20.

The PCO is the Office of the President’s main communications unit, while the Official Gazette is the government’s main publication where newly passed laws and other orders are officially released.

The DICT said that further details regarding the incident will be released once verified information is available.
