Marcos visits Medical City in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos yesterday inspected the newly opened ward of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) at The Medical City in Pasig to oversee the implementation of programs designed to boost health care access.
Eligible patients may avail themselves of lower-cost confinement services in the ward, which was inaugurated last month.
“The visit highlighted the government’s continuing efforts to strengthen health care accessibility through enhanced PhilHealth coverage, including the expanded maternity care package and outpatient emergency care benefits,” The Medical City said in a statement.
Patients are charged P1,500 per stay, more affordable than the P5,000 regular room rate.
Marcos was accompanied by PhilHealth president and chief executive officer Edwin Mercado and Medical City president and group chief executive officer Stuart Bennet during the inspection.
