MANILA, Philippines — Over 195,000 outbound passengers have been recorded in all ports across the country on Black Saturday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

In a statement on Sunday morning, April 5, the PCG said that it monitored 195,257 outbound passengers and 167,690 inbound passengers.

There are also 1,650 vessels and 3,879 motorbancas that were inspected in 16 Coast Guard stations.

In anticipation of this travel surge as the Holy Week ends, the PCG also said that it placed all of its districts, stations and sub-stations on heightened alert status.

The said status began on March 28 and will remain in effect until April 5.

“The seafaring public may coordinate with the PCG, through its official Facebook page, for inquiries, concerns, and clarifications regarding sea travel protocols and regulations during Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2026,” the PCG said.
