MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced yesterday the cancellation of international flights between Manila and the Middle East due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States-Israel.

CAAP said Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific canceled flights to Riyadh, Doha and Dubai. Flights from Davao to Doha were also canceled.

Cebu Pacific canceled flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh.

Cebu Pacific announced the cancellations of flights to Dubai until March 4 and to Riyadh until March 5.

Emirates Air also canceled flights to and from Dubai; Etihad Airways flights, to and from Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait Airlines flights to and from Kuwait.

Since Saturday, at least 23 international flights to the Middle East have been canceled and at least three more were diverted.

“We are closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and are in constant coordination with airlines, airport authorities and international aviation partners,” CAAP director general Raul del Rosario said.

“The safety and security of passengers and flight operations remain our highest priority,” he added.
