MANILA, Philippines — A lone tropical cyclone may enter the country this month, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The tropical cyclone may cross the eastern side of the Visayas or Mindanao, or make a U-turn going out of the Philippine area of responsibility, based on the model from the state weather bureau.

From February to July this year, PAGASA projects four to 11 tropical cyclones may visit the Philippines.

Today, the regions of the Visayas and Bicol, and the provinces of Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line, based on the agency’s 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4 p.m. yesterday.

Mindanao and the rest of MIMAROPA region may be affected by localized thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Moderate to strong winds and coastal waters may hit Luzon and the Visayas, with light to moderate winds and coastal waters over Mindanao.
