Palace declares local holidays
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared special non-working days in several areas in the country to allow residents to fully participate in their respective celebrations.
Proclamation No. 1131 declared Jan. 22 a special non-working day in Guiguinto, Bulacan to mark the celebration of the Halamanan Festival.
Meanwhile, Proclamation Nos. 1135 and 1139 declared Feb. 2 a special non-working day in Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte in celebration of its 112th Araw ng Katipunan and in Mabalacat City, Pampanga for its 314th founding anniversary, respectively.
Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija will observe a special non-working day on Feb. 3 to mark its 76th founding anniversary as provided under Proclamation No. 1138.
Feb. 6 will be a special non-working day in Consolacion, Cebu under Proclamation No. 1136 to mark the municipality’s 106th founding anniversary.
Proclamation No. 1129 declared Feb. 10 a special non-working day in Bacolor, Pampanga to mark the celebration of Bacolor Day.
Under Proclamation No. 1137, Feb. 11 will be a special non-working day in Candoni, Negros Occidental to allow residents to participate in the Dinagyaw sa Tablas Festival.
The festival honors settlers who transformed dense forests into fertile land.
The Palace also declared Feb. 17 a special non-working day in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay through Proclamation No. 1132 to give residents the full opportunity to celebrate the Araw ng Kabasalan.
Proclamation No. 1130 declared Feb. 21 a special non-working day in Marinduque for the celebration of the Araw ng Marinduque.
May 7 was also declared a special non-working day in San Pablo City, Laguna through Proclamation No. 1134 for the celebration of its Charter Anniversary.
The proclamations were recently signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto by the authority of President Marcos.
