MANILA, Philippines — Cebu Pacific said three individuals were intercepted at Caticlan Airport for allegedly using fraudulent credit cards to book flights and reselling travel funds without authorization through social media platforms.

In a statement issued Thursday, December 18, the budget carrier said the individuals had flown from Davao to Boracay and were scheduled to return to Davao when authorities intercepted them for questioning.

“Cebu Pacific is coordinating with the Philippine National Police and the investigation remains ongoing,” the airline said.

Warning vs unauthorized sellers

Cebu Pacific reminded the public to book flights only through its official website, mobile application, or accredited travel partners to ensure legitimate transactions.

“Passengers are advised against transacting with unauthorized sellers, as doing so may result in invalid or incomplete bookings, additional charges, or disrupted travel plans,” the airline said.

“Only CEB’s (Cebu Pacific) official channels and affiliated travel agencies are authorized to sell genuine CEB flights,” it added.
