DFA cancels Harry Roque passport

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it has canceled the passport of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.
In a statement to reporters on Tuesday, the department said it revoked the passports of Roque and four others after receiving an order to do so from Branch 157 of the Pasig Regional Trial Court.
The DFA canceled the passports of the following:
- Herminio "Harry" Roque Jr.
- Katherine Cassandra Li Ong
- Ronelyn Baterna
- Mercides Macabasa
- Dennis Lacson Cunanan
The department said this action is consistent with the provisions of Republic Act 11983 or the New Passport Act and its IRR, and added that they followed their established procedures in notifying appropriate authorities.
The DFA previously confirmed that Roque has only one valid Philippine passport, issued in July 2024 and valid until July 9, 2034.
Roque on Tuesday denied reports that he had been arrested in the Netherlands, where he is trying to seek asylum.
An arrest warrant for Roque was issued back in May in connection with his failure to heed the summons of a committee of the House of Representatives.
