Floods, storm surge warnings still up as 'Uwan' starts exit
MANILA, Philippines — While Typhoon Uwan is on the way out, state meteorologists reiterated that flooding and storm surges are still likely, even if the eye of the storm is far from an area.
While flooding is starting to recede across several water basins, PAGASA warned that flooding is still possible in areas connected to the Bicol River, Agno River Basin, Cagayan River Basin, Apayao-Abulug River Basin and Laguna De Bay River Basin.
PAGASA has also hoisted a storm surge warning over several areas, saying that residents in low-lying areas must stay away from the coast and move to higher grounds.
