LIST: 31 national roads impassable due to 'Uwan'

MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Uwan (International name: Fung-Wong) on Monday, November 10, shut down at least 31 major roads, limiting travel for motorists, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.
In a list released to the media, the DPWH reported that as of 6:00 a.m. on November 10, several roads in Luzon were declared impassable, while others remained accessible only to limited types of vehicles.
Many of the affected roads were flooded or blocked by fallen trees and electrical posts, while others were closed as a precautionary measure. The DPWH said clearing operations are now underway in the affected areas.

Uwan has been downgraded to a typhoon as it moves toward the West Philippine Sea. Despite the downgrade, Signal No. 4 remains in effect over several areas as the country continues to reel from the cyclone’s impact.
