Over 100 Noche Buena items retain prices

MANILA, Philippines — Over 100 Noche Buena items have retained their prices, while six saw rollbacks as the Department of Trade Industry (DTI) released its Noche Buena price guide ahead of the holiday season.
The price guide covers over 200 items commonly purchased for the Christmas Eve meal. Of the products listed, more than 100 have retained their prices.
The DTI said some items saw price increases due to higher costs of ingredients, packaging and labor.
Meanwhile, six items had price rollbacks, including ham products such as the CDO American style ham (500 grams) now priced at P170 from the previous P174; King Sue piña ham (800 g) available at a lower price of P520 from P527; King Sue piña ham (1 kg) reduced to P637 from P643; and the King Sue sweet ham (800 g) down to P449 from P450.
Other items with price rollbacks are Danes queso de bola (500 g) now available at P300 from the previous price of P310 and Sunshine sweet style spaghetti, down to P48.50 from P52.
The price guide covers items such as ham, fruit cocktail, cheese, queso de bola, mayonnaise, sandwich spread, pasta or spaghetti, elbow macaroni, salad macaroni, spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, all-purpose cream, nata de coco and kaong.
Some of the products listed include ham (500 g to 800 g), which range from P170 to P367; fruit cocktail, at P61.76 to P94.41, and all-purpose cream, which sells for P36 to P72.
