MANILA, Philippines — With the possible entry of another typhoon, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has reminded pet owners to unchain their fur babies and not leave them behind during evacuation.

“Please unchain, uncage and never leave your pets behind. Pets are family. They completely trust and rely on you to keep them safe, especially in difficult times,” the group posted on Facebook.

“If you must evacuate, please take them with you. And if, for some truly unavoidable reason, you cannot, then at the very least, please free them. Give them a chance to survive,” they added.
