Where to next? Zaldy Co’s air assets no longer in the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — At least three air assets registered under resigned lawmaker Zaldy Co have left the Philippines, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Tuesday, October 29.
Co, who has been tagged in a massive corruption scheme, has been out of the country ever since the scandal broke.
“Two AgustaWestland helicopters are currently in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, having flown there on August 20 and September 11, respectively. Meanwhile, the Gulfstream aircraft has been in Singapore since August 16,” the CAAP said in a statement to reporters.
Co has around P4.7 billion in air assets, which are registered under his Misibis Aviation and Development Corp.
Co owned at least three other known air assets through the Misibis firm: two Bell 407s and a Bell 206B3.
However, it is believed that he may own several other air assets through other companies: the Hi Tone Construction Corp. and the QM Builder.
Co is tagged as one of the masterminds of the flood control corruption scheme with the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Billions of pesos are suspected to have been funneled through ghost or substandard flood control projects, with agency officials colluding with lawmakers for kickbacks.
