Timor-Leste minister to visit Philippines this week

MANILA, Philippines — Timor-Leste Foreign Minister Bendito dos Santos Freitas will undertake a working visit to the Philippines from Oct. 21 to 23, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
DFA Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro and Dos Santos Freitas are scheduled to have a bilateral meeting on Oct. 22 to discuss areas of cooperation and to advance the shared aspiration of regional peace and prosperity through the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
The DFA said the visit marks Dos Santos Freitas’ second consecutive visit to the Philippines since assuming office in 2023, underscoring the strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.
