JBC sets schedule for Ombudsman interviews

MANILA, Philippines — The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has released the schedule for the interviews for applicants for the Ombudsman position.
In a press release on Tuesday, August 26, the Supreme Court said that the interviews for the Ombudsman from August 28 to September 2.
The position to be filled was vacated by former Ombudsman Samuel Martires, whose term ended on July 27. The interviews will be held at the Supreme Court En Banc Session Hall.
The following is the schedule for interviews for the position of Ombudsman:
Aug. 28, 2025
- Michael Aguinaldo – Former Commission on Audit chair
- Romeo Benitez – Undersecretary, Department of Interior and Local Government
- Jonie Caroche-Vestido – lawyer
- Bautista Corpin Jr. – Associate Justice, Court of Appeals (CA)
- Stephen Cruz – Retired Associate Justice, CA
Aug. 29, 2025
- Geraldine Faith Econg – Presiding Justice, Sandiganbayan
- Beda Epres – Commissioner, Commission on Human Rights (CHR)
- Samuel Gaerlan – Associate Justice, Supreme Court
- Kim Jacinto-Henares – Former Commissioner, Bureau of Internal Revenue

- Anna Liza Logan – Deputy Executive Secretary, Office of the President
