MANILA, Philippines — In observance of National Heroes Day tomorrow, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has directed all local government units to display the Philippine flag in public spaces.

Through Memorandum Circular 2025-085, the DILG called on governors, mayors and barangay officials to ensure that flags are properly and prominently displayed as it is a symbol of unity and nationalism.

The DILG said the order echoed President Marcos’ call for patriotism and civic responsibility.

The official rites in celebration of National Heroes Day will be held at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City tomorrow, led by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.

“The DILG calls on all Filipinos to keep the legacy of our heroes alive through service, solidarity and love of country,” the DILG said in its statement.
