Jobseekers, fresh graduates urged to work in government

MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has encouraged jobseekers, especially fresh graduates and those planning to shift careers to consider working in the government as it announced the 2025 Government Job Fair to be held nationwide next month.

Organized as part of the month-long celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), the 2025 Government Job Fair will be held across 16 CSC regional offices from Sept. 1 to 5.

The CSC’s Cordillera Administrative Region office, meanwhile, will hold a separate job fair on Sept. 9.

The commission said individuals seeking to join the public sector may apply for positions in national government agencies, local government units, government-owned and controlled corporations and state universities and colleges.

In a press statement, CSC Chairperson Marilyn Yap said that unlike other job fairs, the government job fair “is an invitation to serve the nation and the people.”

“The CSC Government Job Fair is a call to be a lingkod bayani (servant-hero). It’s not just to have a job and earn a living but to help improve the public service in our community,” Yap said.

Yap said jobseekers, including fresh graduates, persons with disability and members of the indigenous communities “irrespective of sexual orientation and gender identities,” may request for information on job vacancies, clarify requirements and qualifications and submit applications to their chosen agencies or offices onsite.

Each of the 16 regional offices will soon announce the specific locations of their respective job fairs, in coordination with partner agencies, prioritizing accessibility and convenience of the public, the commission said.

The CSC said participating government offices are also expected to identify and prioritize critical or hard-to-fill vacancies, including job order and contract of service positions.
