Makati schools outperform in National Achievement Test 2024

MANILA, Philippines — Public schools in Makati have outperformed regional and national averages in the National Achievement Test 2023-2024 for Grade 6 students, based on data from the city’s Schools Division Office.
“It is heartening to see that all our efforts to provide the best education to our youth have translated to better academic and cognitive skills among our students,” Mayor Abby Binay said on Thursday.
Makati scored 69.82 in problem solving, surpassing Metro Manila’s average of 63.69 and the national average of 60.76, according to the Department of Education.
In information literacy, Makati recorded 70.59, compared to 61.56 in Metro Manila and 58.20 nationwide.
In critical thinking, the city posted a score of 65.13, ahead of the capital’s 57.74 and 54.80 nationwide.
Makati scored 74.82 in English, 60.26 in Science, 65.51 in Mathematics, 72.27 in Filipino and 69.73 in Araling Panlipunan or social studies, which exceeded Metro Manila and national averages.
The city’s overall mean percentage score of 68.54 was higher than Metro Manila’s 61.02 and 57.94 nationwide.
Grade 3 students in Makati scored 78.27 in early language, literacy and numeracy assessment, surpassing the capital’s average of 68.17 and national average of 60.50.
Learners also scored 80.77 in English, 80.38 in Filipino and 67.92 in Numeracy, which were above regional and national averages.
Binay attributed these achievements to Makati’s investment in public education, including smart classrooms, free school supplies and the provision of nutritious snacks for students.
