MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has approved 27 of the 28 Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) priority bills, Speaker Martin Romualdez said yesterday.

With the conclusion of the 19th Congress fast approaching, Romualdez said its target of approving 100 percent of the LEDAC priority measures is just one bill short.

“The approval showed Congress’ commitment to deliver responsive legislations under President Marcos,” Romualdez said.

Aside from the passage of 27 LEDAC bills, the House also approved 61 of the 64 priority measures under the Common Legislative Agenda for the 19th Congress.

“We are well on track to achieving our legislative goals under President Marcos’ administration. These laws and measures are concrete testaments to our unwavering commitment to the welfare and progress of our nation. Our mission is clear: to ensure that every Filipino benefits from these reforms,” Romualdez said.

The approved LEDAC priority bills include the 11 that were already enacted into law: Republic Act 12009 (Amendments to the Government Procurement Reform Act), RA 12010 (Anti-Financial Accounts Scamming Act), RA 12022 (Amendments to the Anti-Agricultural Smuggling Act), RA 12023 (VAT on Digital Transactions), RA 12024 (Self-Reliant Defense Posture Act), RA 12028 (Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning Program, RA 12063 (Enterprise-Based Education and Training Program, RA 12064 (Philippine Maritime Zones), RA 12065 (Archipelagic Sea Lanes), RA 12066 (CREATE MORE) and RA 12078 (Amendments to the Rice Tariffication Law).

“We worked tirelessly to ensure the passage of laws that directly impact the lives of Filipinos as instructed by President Marcos. Our goal remains to finish strong by passing the remaining measures to achieve 100 percent approval of all LEDAC priority bills,” Romualdez said.

Bukidnon Rep. Jonathan Flores said the House’s productive performance is also his gift to the province’s 2nd District and the entire Filipino people.
