Marcos appoints Artes as MMDA chair

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed Romando Artes as chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, almost two years after his designation as acting MMDA chief.

The Presidential Communications Office yesterday announced Artes’ appointment on Facebook.

In October 2022, Marcos named Artes acting MMDA chairman.

Artes served as MMDA chairman under former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Artes worked as an accountant and lawyer in Biñan City and consultant in Sta. Rosa City in Laguna. He also served as a political and legislative officer at the Senate and consultant at the House of Representatives.
