MANILA, Philippines — Forn de Manila, the first and newly opened Filipino bakery in Barcelona, Spain that specializes in authentic Filipino bread and pastries, has quickly garnered attention and patronage from both the Filipino community and local Spaniards.

Philippine Consul General in Barcelona Maria Theresa Lazaro welcomed the bakery, which is in a prime location near the vibrant Port of Barcelona.

The shop offers Pinoy pandesal, cassava cake, kalihim, kabayan, ensaymada, pan de coco, egg pie and more.

Forn de Manila has also piqued local interest with its “Spanish bread.”

Experienced bakers and long-term Barcelona residents Narissa Moreno and Arleen San Pedro are behind this culinary venture along with former Philippine national women’s volleyball team player RachelAnne Daquis.
