Trough of LPA to bring isolated rain showers in Mindanao — PAGASA
MANILA, Philippines — Southern Mindanao may experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the low pressure area (LPA), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said that the SOCCSKSARGEN region may experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains, which may result in possible flash floods or landslides due to the trough of the LPA or the extension of LPA.
However, the state weather bureau said that the LPA will not develop into a cyclone.
“Maliit ang tsansa na [ang] nasabing low pressure area [ay] [magiging] bagyo sa susunod na araw, at ‘di nating inaasahang papasok sa Philippine area of responsibility,” PAGASA said.
(There is a low probability for the low pressure area will develop into a cyclone the next day, and we do not expect it to enter the Philippine area of responsibility.)
Meanwhile, the northern part of Luzon, particularly the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon or amihan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms, according to the state weather bureau.
