MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections will reopen voter registration for the 2025 midterm elections on February 12.

Comelec chairperson George Erwin Garcia said that the voter registration period will run for seven months or until September 30.

"Our projected number of registered voters is around 3 million, which shall be added to the current 68 million voters," he added

Previously, the poll body held the registration period from Dec. 12, 2022 to Jan. 31, 2023, allowing 1.6 million additional voters to sign up.

The Comelec on January 1 reminded overseas voters to sign up to vote for the 2025 midterm elections.

Voter registration for overseas Filipinos will run from Dec. 9, 2023 to September 30 this year.

After conducting the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataang Elections in 2023, the poll body said that it is eyeing to hold a one-month "special registration" for voters in 2026 to prevent cases of missing names on voters' and precincts' lists.
