MANILA, Philippines — Impersonator and satirist Willie Nepomuceno has passed away at the age of 75, his family announced yesterday in a Facebook post.

“To our family, loved ones and friends, it is with deep sadness and heavy heart to announce the passing of our beloved father, Willie Nepomuceno on July 26, 2023, at the age of 75. He has peacefully joined our creator,” the post said.

The details of his wake will be announced soon, it added. Nepomuceno’s family asked for continued prayers.

According to GMA News Online, Nepomuceno fell off the bed and hit his head on the floor. He was then brought to the emergency room of Marikina Valley Medical Center on Monday morning, as told by his son Willie Wilsson Nepomuceno.

He suffered from subdural hematoma and underwent craniotomy. He was comatose but his vitals later declined.

In a Facebook post, Willie Wilsson bid farewell to his father.

“Farewell, Tatay. Though it’s incredibly hard to say goodbye, I am grateful for the time we had together. Your love, guidance and presence in my life have shaped me into the person I am today. I will forever treasure the memories we created, the laughter we shared and the lessons you taught me,” he said.

He also expressed his gratitude to his Tatay, saying, “Thank you, Tatay, for your unwavering love and for being an incredible father. Your legacy will forever be engraved in my heart. Rest well, knowing that you are deeply loved and missed.”

The comedian was popular for impersonating political figures, such as former presidents Joseph Estrada, Fidel V. Ramos, Ferdinand Marcos Sr., former senator Juan Ponce Enrile, boxer-turned-politician Manny Pacquiao and Comedy King Dolphy.
