MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has named former Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chair Agnes Devanadera as acting president and chief executive officer of Clark Development Corp. (CDC).

“We confirm the appointment of Agnes Vicenta Salayo Torres Devanadera as acting president and chief executive officer and member of the board of directors of Clark Development Corp.” Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said in a statement.

Devanadera served as ERC chief under former president Rodrigo Duterte. She was justice secretary and solicitor general during the time of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

A statement posted on ERC’s website said Devanadera “was instrumental in ushering various reforms in the government, including the recovery of ill-gotten wealth from the Marcoses, re-privatization of water utilities and the prosecution of key personalities involved in the Maguindanao  massacre.”

She is a former mayor of Sampaloc, Quezon, national president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines and interior and local government undersecretary.

CDC aims to transform the Clark Freeport Zone into a preferred business and tourism destination in the Asia Pacific region.
