Leody, Bello, Gonzales first up on Comelec-KBP interviews

MANILA, Philippines — Two presidential bets former defense secretary Norberto Gonzales and labor leader Leody de Guzman and De Guzman’s vice presidential candidate Walden Bello are the first to be featured in “PiliPinas Forum 2022,” the Commission on Elections-Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (Comelec-KBP) panel interviews.

The series of interviews for each candidate or tandem will be one hour long, to be conducted by a panel of broadcast anchors drawn from KBP-member networks.

According to Comelec Commissioner George Garcia, the taped interview of Gonzales will be aired at 10 a.m. today on Bombo Radyo. This will be followed by the 11 a.m. interview of De Guzman and Bello on ABS-CBN.

Tomorrow, the interview of presidential candidate Faisal Mangondato and his running mate, Carlos Serapio, will be broadcast at 10 a.m. on TV5, while vice presidential candidate Senate President Tito Sotto will have his live interview on the same day at 11 a.m. on Bombo Radyo.

On Thursday, May 5, vice presidential aspirant Manny Lopez will be interviewed live at 10 a.m. on CNN Philippines.

Next on the interview list is presidential aspirant and former spokesman Ernesto Abella, whose interview will also be broadcast on Thursday at 11 a.m. on TV5.

Lawyer and cardiologist Jose Montemayor and his vice presidential candidate Rizalito David will have their turn on Friday, May 6, at 10 a.m. at MBC, while at 11 a.m. of the same day, presidential aspirant Sen. Manny Pacquiao will be the final interviewee to be aired on CNN.

Three other presidential candidates – Vice President Leni Robredo, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Sen. Panfilo Lacson – will not be participating in the Comelec-KBP panel interviews because of conflicts with their schedules.

Former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will not take part in the panel interviews. He had previously skipped the Comelec-sponsored presidential debates.
