MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression “Lannie” exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas said in an interview with ANC's "Rundown."

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said Lannie packs winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph. It is moving west northwestward at 25 kph.

PAGASA said the trough of the tropical depression may bring rains over the western section of Mimaropa.

It added that Lannie is enhancing easterlies and southwesterlies, which will bring gale to at times gale force winds over extreme northern Luzon and the western section of central and southern Luzon.

PAGASA hoisted a gale warning over the seaboards of northern Luzon and the western seaboards of southern Luzon, where sea conditions are hazardous due to Lannie and the enhanced easterlies and southwesterlies.

The state weather bureau warned that sea travel is risky for small seacrafts in the remaining western seaboard of Luzon and eastern seaboard of the country where moderate to rough seas will prevail.

Forecast position

  • Wednesday afternoon: 750 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales (outside the PAR)
  • Early Thursday morning: 1,010 kilometers west of northern Luzon (outside the PAR)
