Workers with COVID-19 may apply for cash aid – ECC

MANILA, Philippines — Employees who get infected with COVID-19 may now apply for cash assistance with the Employees Compensation Commission (ECC) without going to its office.

In an advisory, the ECC said those who wish to apply may send their application and other pertinent documents through courier.

“EC cash assistance application may now be submitted by those found to have been positive for COVID-19 using courier services,” it added.

The EC Cash Assistance program is a benefit that the ECC provides and administers in its central and regional offices.

The cash assistance usually amounts to P10,000 or P15,000 for sickness or death, respectively.

Applicants should send their proof of approved EC claim from Social Security System or Government Service Insurance System, an accomplished cash assistance form and copies of two government issued valid identification cards.

Other requirements are any of the medical or quarantine certificate – RT-PCR positive test result, rapid antigen test result with medical certificate of confirmed COVID-19 illness or EC logbook entry/official incident report.

For death claims, applicants must include death certificate and marriage or birth certificate of dependents or Cenomar and birth certificate, if deceased is single.
