MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte has declared Tuesday (July 20) a regular holiday in observance of the Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice observed by the Muslim community.

Duterte signed Proclamation No. 1189 to allow Muslims to commemorate the occasion, which is one of the two greatest feasts of Islam.

“The observance of Eid’l Adha shall be subject to existing community quarantine and social distancing measures,” he said.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has recommended that the Feast of Sacrifice shall be observed on Tuesday, prompting the declaration of the regular holiday.
