MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo yesterday said the increase in her 2020 net worth was due to the properties left by her mother, who passed away last year.

In her weekly program over dzXL, the Vice President said her declared wealth was still subject to change as her mother’s estate has yet to be settled among her siblings.

“My mother died and I’m the only child here. My siblings work abroad. We are three siblings, so I serve as the executor of her will,” Robredo, a lawyer, said in Filipino.

“These properties are subject to final settlement,” she said.

Based on a newspaper report, Robredo has declared a net worth of P11,904,280 in 2020 based on her latest statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN).

Robredo declared a net worth of P3.5 million in 2019 and 2.3 million in 2018.

The Vice President said they have many more properties which have yet to be found as these were not included in their previous list.

“I take care of all the properties left by my mother. I reported in my SALN the properties that are with me but we have no extrajudicial settlement yet so I don’t know if these (assets) will be deducted from or added to my SALN,” she said.

Robredo has yet to decide whether or not she will seek the presidency in the May 2022 elections as she is looking into her campaign feasibility.

“A lot of people are rushing me to make a decision already but it’s not that easy, because the feasibility of a presidential run is one of the primary considerations,” the Vice President said in a previous interview.

Robredo is one of the personalities named by the opposition coalition 1Sambayan on Saturday as its possible presidential bet next year.
