MANILA, Philippines — Former senator Paolo Benigno ‘Bam’ Aquino IV has been selected as one of 22 young global leaders from Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and South America by the Eisenhower Fellowships to take part in their 2020 program.
The Eisenhower Fellowships, established in 1953, is a “transformative fellowship experience and lifelong engagement with a global network of dynamic change agents committed to creating a world more peaceful, prosperous and just.”
In a statement, Aquino thanked the organizers for selecting him as one of the fellows, calling it a great honor to be chosen in such a prestigious program with a long history.
“Bukod sa isa itong malaking karangalan, malaking pagkakataon ito upang matuto ng mga makabagong programa, lalo na sa paggamit ng teknolohiya upang maitaas ang antas ng edukasyon sa ating bansa,” the former lawmaker added, citing the use of technology to uplift education.
In 2020, the 22 leaders will embark on fellowships across the United States, focusing on diverse fields such as affordable quality education, artificial intelligence and financial literacy.
