MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) yesterday reported that there is no Filipino casualty during Saturday’s attacks on key Saudi Arabia processing plants.

“As of today, there was no reported casualties from our workers,” Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello said quoting a report from labor officials in Saudi.

Citing a report from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Bello said Filipinos and all other workers of state-run oil giant Saudi Aramco have been evacuated following the attack, but are now back at the worksite.

“Our POLOs are on top of the situation and they are ready to implement contingency plans if necessary,” Bello disclosed.

He said the POLO in Al Khobar is also closely monitoring worksites to check on the conditions of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Bello said there are 287 OFWs in the Riyadh shelter. Of this number, 122 are set to be repatriated on Sept. 22.
