LIST: Flights canceled due to protests at Hong Kong International Airport
MANILA, Philippines — As the anti-government protests continue at Hong Kong International Airport for the fourth day, flights to and from the major travel hub were canceled Monday.
Hong Kong airport authorities announced Monday afternoon that all remaining departing and arriving flights “have been canceled for the rest of today” after thousands of protesters flooded the arrivals hall to stage a demonstration.
“Airport operations at Hong Kong International Airport have been seriously disrupted as a result of the public assembly at the airport today,” airport authorities said.
As of 6:10 p.m. Monday, here is the list of canceled flights with their estimated time of departures:
Philippine Airlines
- PR 310 (Manila to Hong Kong) ETD 7 p.m.
- PR 311 (Hong Kong to Manila) ETD 10:25 p.m.
- PR 312 (Manila to Hong Kong) ETD 9:10 p.m.
- PR 313 (Hong Kong to Manila) Departing August 13
Cebu Pacific
- 5J 114 (Manila to Hong Kong) ETD 6:05 p.m.
- 5J 115 (Hong Kong to Manila) ETD 10:05 p.m.
- 5J 120 (Clark to Hong Kong) ETD 7:20 p.m.
- 5J 121 (Hong Kong to Clark) ETD 10:30 p.m.
Cebu Pacific said passengers on these canceled flights may rebook to a later date free of charge, avail a full refund or place the cost of the ticket in a travel fund for future use.
“We appeal for patience and understanding as we manage our operations in Hong Kong amid the situation that is beyond our control,” the budget airline said.
