MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has appointed Jeremiah Belgica, brother of Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission commissioner Greco Belgica, as head of the Anti-Red Tape Authority.

Jeremiah is the third member of the Belgica family to join the Duterte administration.

The Belgicas’ father, Grepor, was appointed on May 20 this year as presidential adviser for religious affairs.

Malacañang released yesterday the latest summary list of appointments, which showed that Jeremiah was appointed on June 3.

Aside from Belgica, President Duterte appointed Angelica Cayas as governor of the Board of Investments; Mita Chuchi Lim, Director IV of the Department of Social Welfare and Development; Ricardo Oñate to the Department of Agriculture; Arecio Casing and Cynthia Villena, Directors III; and Greg Pineda, assistant director-general of the National Economic and Development Authority; David Diciano, assistant secretary of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process;

Jose Carlo Reyes, Director IV, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT); Jose Arturo de Castro, DICT undersecretary; Emmanuel Rey Caintic, Vicente Cejoco and Eleazar Almabis, DICT undersecretaries.

The Palace did not release the appointment papers of new appointees, which has been customarily the practice under past administrations.

The presidential spokesperson’s office referred members of the media to the Records Section under the Office of the President for a copy of the appointment papers.
