Senate satisfaction ratings up in 2018 fourth quarter — SWS poll
MANILA, Philippines — Public satisfaction with the Senate rose to “very good” in the last quarter of 2018, the Social Weather Stations (SWS) said in its latest report.
The Dec. 16 to 19 poll found 71 percent satisfied and 13 percent dissatisfied with the Senate for a net satisfaction score of +58. This was up from a “good” +48 in September last year.
The Senate’s net satisfaction rating rose by 23 points from +34 in September to +57 in December in Metro Manila.
It also increased to very good +61 from good +48 in the Visayas.
It rose nine points but stayed very good in Mindanao, from +51 in September to +60 in December.
It also went up six points from +50 to +56 in balance Luzon. Both are classifed as very good.
By class, the Senate’s net satisfaction rating rose from good +46 to very good +62 among class E.
It also improved from good +49 to very good +58 among class D.
It stayed good though up four points to +42 from +38 among class ABC.
The House of Representatives, meanwhile, obtained a net satisfaction rating of good +40 (57 percent satisfied, 17 percent dissatisfied).
This was higher by four points from +36 in September 2018 and the highest since the good +42 in June 2016.
The net satisfaction rating of the House rose in Metro Manila from moderate +19 to good +36 in Metro Manila.
It stayed good but up by seven points in the Visayas from +34 in September to +41 in December.
It stayed good in Mindanao, up a point from +41 to +42.
It also stayed good in balance Luzon, also up by one point from +39 to +40.
Net satisfaction with the House rose from moderate +27 to good +46 among class ABC.
It rose by four points but remained in good territory among class D, from +35 in September to +39 in December.
It stayed at good +41 among class E from September to December.
In the case of the Supreme Court (SC), 54 percent were satisfied and 17 percent were dissatisfied with its performance, resulting in a net satisfaction rating of good +37.
This was six points above its September 2018 net satisfaction rating of +31 and similar to the good +37 in December 2017.
The high court’s net satisfaction rating rose from moderate +22 to good +35 in Metro Manila.
It went up seven points to good +38 from +31 in balance Luzon.
It also stayed good but up six points in the Visayas, from +41 in September to +47 in December.
It stayed moderate although down by two points in Mindanao, from +29 to +27.
Net satisfaction with the SC rose by three grades from neutral +9 to very good +53 among class ABC.
It rose seven points but stayed good among class E, from +34 in September to +41 in December.
It also increased by three points but remained in good territory among class D, from +32 to +35.
The Cabinet, meanwhile, received a net satisfaction score of good +35 (52 percent satisfied, 17 percent dissatisfied).
This was up three points from +32 in September 2018 and the highest since the good +38 in December 2017.
