Ex-ConCom spokesman seeks Senate seat
MANILA, Philippines — The spokesman of the Consultative Committee for President Rodrigo Duterte's bid to shift to federalism said on Tuesday that he would be seeking a seat at the Senate.
Ding Generoso filed his certificate of candidacy under the Katipunan Ng Kamalayang Kayumanggi.
He said, in a statement, that while his future statements would no longer be related to the ConCom, he will continue to talk about “the draft Federal Constitution, the cause of federalism and system change.”

“We are making the 2019 elections a platform to advance federalism, system change, and the Puno draft constitution,” Generoso said in a statement.
He added that he and his political party will focus on the shift to federalism in their campaign.
“We are bringing the Puno draft federal constitution to the polls in line with what the president said in his [State of Nation Address]—that he is confident that ‘the people will stand behind us when we bring the draft constitution to them,” Generoso also said.
The shift to federalism is central to the Duterte administration’s agenda.
The Concom’s draft Charter was submitted to Duterte last July.
